On September 30, 2026, SM Entertainment announced that Winter will sit out aespa’s Dallas concert at American Airlines Center, including the Hi-Bye and Send-Off events, after a shingles diagnosis.
For you as a ticket holder, the key fact is that the show is not cancelled — it proceeds with three members, Karina, Giselle and Ningning.
This post covers the announcement, whether Winter appears at later tour dates, what happens to refunds and add-on packages, and the tour context behind the dates.
Aespa Winter Dallas Concert: Why Winter Sits Out With Shingles
| You hold a Dallas main-show ticket | The show is not cancelled — it runs with Karina, Giselle and Ningning |
|---|---|
| You bought a Dallas Hi-Bye or Send-Off package | Expect to meet 3 members, not 4 — Winter is out of both add-on events too |
| You want a refund for the Dallas date | No official refund statement has been announced — check SM’s notice and your ticketing platform |
| You are deciding on tickets for the next stop | SM’s notice covers Dallas only — later Winter participation is not guaranteed |
| You hold tickets for later US stops | Check SM’s official channels for updates before your date |
Per SM Entertainment’s announcement of September 30, 2026 (reported by Korea Times the same day), Winter sits out aespa’s Dallas concert at American Airlines Center, including the Hi-Bye and Send-Off events.
The diagnosis behind the notice is shingles (herpes zoster), a reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus — the same virus that causes chickenpox.
The absence covers the entire Dallas schedule, not just the main set.
Medical advice recommended recovery, and Winter and SM agreed she should rest after she had monitored her condition until shortly before the event hoping to perform.
If you are going to the Dallas show, the first thing to check is whether your event is cancelled or only missing a member — those two situations lead to completely different decisions.
Here, the concert proceeds with three of aespa’s four members, so a main-show ticket still gets you a full performance.

Will Winter Be at the Next aespa Concert Dates?
No — whether Winter appears at any tour date after Dallas is not announced as of September 30, 2026.
SM’s notice covers the Dallas schedule only, and the company stated that her later participation depends on her recovery.
No broader schedule change was announced for the remaining stops of the ‘SYNK : COMPLaexITY’ tour, which spans 25 regions.
If you hold tickets for a later US stop, watch SM’s official channels (Weverse notice) for member-absence updates before your date.
Do not treat this post’s Dallas answer as applying to your city — each date gets its own announcement.
Do You Get a Refund When a Member Sits Out?
No official statement on refunds or exchanges for the Dallas date has been announced as of September 30, 2026.
The affected group is widest for Hi-Bye and Send-Off package holders, because those add-on events also proceed without Winter and the value of the package changes the most.
No ticketing-platform policy for member-change situations on this tour has been confirmed either.
If a refund matters to your decision, wait for the official SM/Weverse notice and check the handling on your ticketing platform before assuming anything — partial refunds for partial-member shows are not confirmed at this point.
What Is Shingles and Why Touring Makes It Worse
Shingles is a reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus, the virus that causes chickenpox, and it typically requires rest and medical treatment.
Stress and fatigue are recognized risk factors for reactivation, and heavy touring schedules are a known aggravating factor for performers.
Standard treatment guidance is rest plus antiviral medication, with stress reduction advised to avoid flare-ups, and recovery time varies by individual — a multi-week recovery is typical for performing artists.
For planning purposes, that means Winter’s return date cannot be guessed from the diagnosis alone; it depends on how her recovery goes, so date-specific announcements are the only reliable signal.
How Winter Got Here: Miami on September 26, Then the Diagnosis
Winter was already unwell before the Miami concert on September 26, 2026, and performed anyway alongside Karina, Giselle and Ningning because she wanted to perform with them.
Her condition did not improve after Miami, and a hospital examination confirmed the shingles diagnosis.
She had reportedly kept trying to recover and remained willing to perform in Dallas, monitoring her condition until shortly before the event.
For anyone tracking later dates, the timeline matters because it shows the absence is a medical rest decision made with medical advice, not a scheduling change — which is why updates will come through SM’s health-related notices rather than the tour schedule.
The ‘SYNK : COMPLaexITY’ Tour in Context: 25 Regions, Gocheok, and Last Tour’s Prices
The ‘SYNK : COMPLaexITY’ 2026–27 world tour spans 25 regions, and its Seoul opening was held at Gocheok Sky Dome on October 8, 2025 — aespa’s first Gocheok show and only the second girl group there after BLACKPINK.
For scale reference, aespa’s previous ‘SYNK : aeXIS LINE’ tour ran three days at KSPO Dome in 2025, with tickets at ₩154,000 (regular) and ₩198,000 (VIP including soundcheck).
Those are reference points for how past Seoul shows were priced — Dallas ticket pricing for this tour was not found in this run’s sources, so do not plan a budget from the 2025 numbers.
The Seoul set opened with the new song ‘LEMONADE’, followed by ‘Whiplash’, ‘Black Mamba’, ‘WDA’, ‘Thirsty’ and ‘Angel #48’, with unit stages (Giselle and Ningning’s ‘Lollipop’, Karina and Winter’s ‘Serenade’) added for the first time on this tour — a 3-member Dallas show will necessarily rearrange parts of that structure.
If I held a Dallas ticket, I would go expecting the 3-member show and treat any refund as a bonus — the show was never cancelled, and the first thing I would watch is SM’s Weverse notice in case Hi-Bye and Send-Off arrangements change.
