How do I know if my Seoul subway line is delayed right now?
This page reads Seoul Metro’s official notice feed every minute. If a line is delayed, a station is being skipped, or service is extended for a strike or event, it appears in the live box above with the lines affected and the period. No notice means the operator has not posted a disruption.
Why is the notice text in Korean?
The operator publishes notices in Korean only. We translate the structured parts — lines, times, whether trains stop — and keep the original text so you can run it through your phone’s camera translator. The "Trains skip station" flag is the one that changes your plans.
Which lines are covered?
Seoul Metro operates Lines 1–8 (the Seoul sections). Korail lines (Gyeongui-Jungang, Gyeongchun, Suin-Bundang, Line 1 outside Seoul), Line 9, Sinbundang and the Airport Railroad post their own notices and are not in this feed.
What should I do if my station is being skipped?
Get off one stop before or after and walk or take a bus — skipped stations are usually because of a protest or a platform incident and last an hour or two. Check the planner page for an alternative line.
Where does this data come from?
Seoul Metro’s subway notice API on data.go.kr (updated every minute). The page itself is rebuilt twice a day; the box refreshes live.
