This policy explains what KoreanKorea (“the site”) collects and how it is used. It applies to koreankorea.com.
What we collect
Site statistics: we count page views to see which articles are read. This uses a self-hosted statistics tool on our own server; it records the page, the time, a coarse referrer (for example “Google”) and an approximate location derived from the IP address (country and city level), and a hashed, anonymized visitor identifier. No accounts or profiles are built.
Comments: if you comment, the name and email you enter are stored with the comment, as WordPress normally does.
Cookies and advertising
The site may display ads served by Google and other third-party vendors. These vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of the advertising cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors’ cookies at aboutads.info. You can also block cookies in your browser; the site keeps working without them.
Outbound links: when you click a link that leaves the site, we count the click by article and destination site together with the kind of place you came from (search, AI assistant, direct and so on); the full referring address is not sent.
Affiliate links (Amazon, Shopee Taiwan): recipe pages may link to Amazon or Shopee Taiwan, and we may earn a commission from qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, KoreanKorea earns from qualifying purchases. Our home page loads a script from Affiliates.One (cdn.adotone.com), the network that runs the Coupang Taiwan program; it reads the links on that page, sends them and the page address to Affiliates.One, and turns links to approved partner shops into tracked links when you click them. On recipe pages, if your device clock is set to Taiwan time (checked inside your browser; nothing is sent to find out), the ingredient links point to Shopee Taiwan links we prepared in advance through Affiliates.One — your browser does not contact Affiliates.One until you click one.
Retention and deletion
We no longer send new-post emails. Any address collected earlier is deleted on request — write to the address below. Statistics data is kept in aggregate and is not tied to a person.
