FAQ
What does the crowd number mean?
It is a relative index for that one place: 100 is the busiest day in the forecast window, 0 the quietest. A 30 at Gyeongbokgung and a 30 at a neighbourhood park are not the same number of people — compare days for a place, not places against each other.
How is the forecast made?
Korea Tourism Organization runs a machine-learning model on KT mobile-phone location data going back to 2018 and projects visitor concentration 30 days ahead for each attraction. It captures weekly rhythm, holidays and season; it cannot see a one-off event announced yesterday.
Is it better to visit palaces on a weekday?
In this window the quietest days for Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung are Gyeongbokgung Tue 09/29 and Changdeokgung Mon 10/05. Palaces close one weekday a week (Gyeongbokgung Tuesdays, Changdeokgung Mondays) — those days do not appear as "quiet", they are closed.
