How to get it back

- Find the listing. Search above by what it is (phone, wallet, bag) β listings are in the order the companies posted them, newest first. Descriptions are the company’s own words translated by dictionary, so “Other” may hide an umbrella or a jacket: try a colour or the item word too.
- Go to the company’s lost-and-found centre with photo ID. Every listing carries the same notice: bring identification and collect in person at the company (“νμ¬λ΄ λΆμ€μΌν°”). Company names are in Korean in the list β show the Korean name to any taxi driver or hotel desk.
- After 7 days, search the police portal. Unclaimed items are handed to the police under the Lost Articles Act; lost112.go.kr (the national portal, English available) is where they reappear.
- Subway β call the centre first. Seoul Metro’s 4 lost & found centres (below) hold items from Lines 1β8; the station office nearest to where you got off often has it the same day.

I left something on a Seoul bus. What do I do first?
Note the route number, the direction and roughly when you got off, then search the live list above β bus companies register found items here (6 operators posted items in the last 30 days). If it is listed, go to that company’s lost-and-found desk with your passport or ID. If it is not listed yet, check again later the same day and the next morning; items appear once the driver hands them in at the depot.
What do I need to bring to collect an item?
Photo ID β the companies’ own notice says the owner must present identification ("λ³ΈμΈμ μ¦λͺ ν μ μλ μ λΆμ¦") at the company lost-and-found centre. A passport is fine for visitors. Be ready to describe the item (colour, contents, lock screen) before they show it to you.
How long do bus and taxi companies keep lost items?
The notice attached to every listing says items are kept temporarily and, if the owner is not found, handed to the police within 7 days under the Lost Articles Act. After that, search the national police lost-and-found portal (lost112.go.kr) instead of the company.
I lost something in a taxi β is it in this list?
Taxi companies post here too (), but most Seoul taxis are owner-driven and do not report to this system. If you paid by card, your card statement shows the taxi company or driver name and you can call them; the receipt printed in the taxi has the plate number and a phone number. Seoul’s 120 Dasan Call Center can help trace a taxi by plate number.
What about the subway?
Subway items are not in this list. Seoul Metro (Lines 1β8) runs 4 lost & found centres β the table above gives the station, floor, phone and hours. Items left on Line 9, the Airport Railroad, Shinbundang and Korail lines go to those operators’ own desks; after about a week everything ends up on lost112.go.kr.
